I just think that this is important in the book because in a way it shows how the boys lives has been. And it shows how they have been brought up. It also shows how society now a days doesnt care about how the launguage is and like its "slang talk."
" I felt like i was related to just about everybody in Frederick." Pg.34
I think this quote shows a lot about Marina, she felt so close to her families herritage(spanish) that she felt like everyone from her home town was family.
" Finally, I decided I must have. I blammed myself." Pg.39
I think this is very relavent to what kids do all the time in real life. Lets say the parents got a devorce a lot of kids think its their faults and they get down on themselves.
